New Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SC Back Up Battery, Lynx Plus 3000 L5000 L5100 L5200 L5210 L7000 Wireless Panels The Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SC is a standard capacity battery backup for any Honeywell LYNX Series wireless alarm control panel. The Honeywell , , , L5200, L7000 wireless alarm control panels all include a LYNXRCHKIT-SC battery backup. The Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SC will provide up to (4) hours of battery standby time in the event that your LYNX Series wireless alarm control panel loses AC power. The battery pack is supervised by the LYNX alarm control panel so you will be alerted if it was unplugged or if the voltage has dropped below the normal value. The LYNXRCHKIT-SC is a rechargeable battery pack rated at 7.2VDC. The battery pack is actually made up of (6) 1100mAh nickel-metal hydride batteries, size AA, connected in series. The LYNX alarm control panel will drain the voltage of the battery pack whenever AC power is removed. However, as soon as the AC power is restored, the LYNX alarm control panel will recharge the battery pack until it is back to its normal voltage and ready for the next power outage. With the LYNXRCHKIT-SC, you don’t have to worry about a power outage putting your home at risk. Most power outages only last a few minutes. Therefore, the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SC, which can power your LYNX Series alarm control panel for up to (4) hours, should provide enough battery backup for most situations. Just like your rechargeable car battery, the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SC battery backup will not last forever. Eventually the battery pack will not be able to recharge to the level needed to power your LYNX Series wireless alarm control panel. Your alarm control panel will display a “low battery” message and you will have to replace the LYNXRCHKIT-SC. The life of the LYNXRCHKIT-SC battery depends on the frequency of power outages but should last for at least (5) years. If you ever come home to your LYNX Series wireless alarm control panel displaying a “low battery” message, do not assume you need to replace your LYNXRCHKIT-SC. You may have had a power outage and the battery pack will just need to recharge. As the battery pack can take up to (48) hours to fully charge, you will know if the battery needs replacing if the “low battery” message does not clear after (2) days.
